The old sewage treatment plant in Prague – Bubenec is an important landmark and showcase of history of architecture, engineering and water management. Built in the years 1901 – 1906 it was designed as the last segment of well-planned sewer network in Prague. To cleaning major part of Prague wastewater it served until 1967, when the Central sewage treatment plant has been open at the nearby Imperial Island (Cisarsky ostrov). The sewage system project and draft technical parameters of the treatment plant have been developed by Sir Heerlein William Lindley, a civil engineer of British origin.

At present, the whole facility is undergoing a gradual restoration and is at the same time open to the public. In addition to visitor tours, a number of corporate events are held here and the premises are often used by film crews that appreciate its global uniqueness.
